Venue

Both the ceremony and the reception will take place at the Mansfield Traquair.

The full address is 15 Mansfield Place, Edinburgh EH3 6BB.

Parking

Unfortunately, there is no parking available for guests at the Mansfield Traquair itself.

There is free weekend parking available in the local area.

As with any city centre, parking spaces can be limited. If you are intending to drive, we would recommend you arrive well in advance of the ceremony, in case you have problems finding a space.

Public transport & taxis

Edinburgh has an excellent bus service and there are several routes with stops near the Mansfield Traquair including the 25, 43, 44, 49, and 8. You can download the Lothian Bus & Tram app for live departure times.

If you are travelling by taxi, we would recommend Uber, Central Taxis, or Capital Cars.

It’s also easy to get around town on foot if you are staying close to the wedding venue.

Confetti

The venue is happy for guests to throw confetti outside the Traquair but no confetti inside, please.

Layout and accessibility

The ceremony and the reception will take place in the Mansfield Traquair’s main hall, at street level.

There are two other floors below street level.

The creche will be located one level below the ceremony and reception. The gents toilets are also on this floor.

If the weather is nice, the drinks reception will be hosted in the Mansfield Traquair’s garden, two levels below street level. The ladies toilets are on this floor.

All floors are accessible via a lift.

History

The Mansfield Traquair has been called ‘Edinburgh’s Sistine Chapel’. Its exquisite murals were painted by illustrator, painter and embroiderer Phoebe Anna Traquair (1852 - 1936).

We are really pleased that we are able to get married in such a special venue which showcases a woman’s virtuosity in a creative field historically dominated by men.

For more about the venue’s history, see the Mansfield Traquair’s website.
